Wayne Franklin Gordon

Mr. Wayne F. Gordon, Sr., 74, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his family. Wayne was born in Forsyth County. He was proceeded in death by his parents Benjamin F. Gordon and Penny Gordon Hunter. His brother Donald Gordon and sister Peggy Higgins and his grandson Cameron Gordon and favorite aunt Frances Gordon. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Jewell, son Wayne Gordon, Jr. and wife Susan, daughter Kathy Hayes and husband Keith. His grandchildren Kevin Boyles and wife Renee', Gregory Gordon and Brook Hayes. Two great-grandchildren Christian and McKinley Boyles. Longtime friends Harry New and family, Henry Hoggard and family. Wayne was a life long resident of Winston-Salem and was retired from McLean Trucking. He was also the owner of J & W Ceramics and was employed by Roush Racing for 5 years. He was a member of the Son's of Confederate Veterans and a member of New Friendship Baptist Church where he had many friends. He also served on the Historical, Baptismal and Cemetery committees. A going home celebration will be held on Friday October 10, 2014 at New Friendship Baptist Church at 11:00am.
