Wayland Charles Sarvis

Wayland Charles Sarvis, age 80, died on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Silas Creek Manor in Winston-Salem. He was born April 2, 1933 in Tabor City, NC to the late Bostain Sarvis and the late Rachel Louella Fowler Sarvis Fipps. A longtime resident of Davie County, he was retired from Foodcraft, Inc. A devout Christian, Mr. Sarvis was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Advance, NC. He is survived by his children, Larry Sarvis and wife, Pat, of Winston-Salem, Jeffrey Sarvis and wife Mary, of Chesapeake, VA, Lisa Sarvis of Winston-Salem, Ariane Sarvis of Texas, and a special daughter, Wenona Vistoso of Maryland. Also surviving are his fishing buddies, grandchildren, Jennifer Sarvis, Amanda Sarvis and Joshua Sarvis, two great-granddaughters, Madison and Mariah, sisters, Doris Boatwright, Linda Cash, Betty Helblig of Columbia, SC, Cathy Nelson of Tallahassee, FL, and brother, Howard Fipps of Blythewood, SC. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, January 6, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Wayne Swisher officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00-11:00am. Memorials may be made to N.C. Horse Rescue or the American Cancer Society.
