Mr. Warren Edgar Wood, 91, of Clemmons, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Mr. Wood was born on May 5, 1922 to Paul Wood and Ethel Key Wood Grubbs. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during World War II in the submarine service. Mr. Wood began his sales career with Proctor and Gamble, and continued in sales with various companies until he founded Wood's Fundraising Products. He was a member of Forsyth Park Baptist Church where he served as a longtime trustee. Mr. Wood was a past member of the Masons and the Moose Lodge. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Alice Hall; and a very special aunt, Grace Huff. He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Causby Wood; two daughters, Sue Wood Rice and husband, Bill, of Winston-Salem, and Dr. Winifred Ellen Fox and husband, Clark, of Statesville; a son, John Bates and wife, Joan, of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Mary Clare Fox (Will Reich), Warren Stephen Fox (Terri), Elizabeth Bates, and Sydney Bates; and three great-grandchildren, Patrick Stephen Fox, Elijah Clark Fox, and Pauline Ruth Reich. A funeral service will be conducted 11:30 am Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Forsyth Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Southern officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, prior to the service, at the church. Burial will follow 2:30 pm Wednesday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 3250 High Point Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
