Wanda Newell Mozingo, 84, passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on October 10, 2024. She was born on November 10, 1939, to Henry Floyd Newell and Nora Rouse Newell in Greene County, NC. She was very proud of where she came from and always cherished the farm on which she was born.

Wanda taught school in Davidson County, NC for two years before dedicating the rest of her life to passionately caring for her family.
Wanda was a woman of great knowledge and curiosity. She loved spending time at Holden Beach with family and friends and listening to songs by one of her favorite artists, Roger Whittaker. Wanda was a phenomenal cook and a true Southern lady. She will be missed deeply by everyone she touched.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee Mozingo. Surviving are her sons, Roger Lee Mozingo, Jr. (Bobbie) and Henry Carlton Mozingo (Leslie); grandchildren, Shelby, Jarrett, Meredith, and William; and brother, Samuel William Newell. A private interment will be held at Newell Family Cemetery in Snow Hill, NC, at a later date.
