Mrs. Wanda Owens Lockhart, 87, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017, in Millbrook, AL, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Wanda was born in Wilkes County, NC, on April 12, 1929, to the late Paul Price Owens and Rosa Lee Crysel Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lockhart. Wanda is survived by her daughter, Cindy Lockhart of Asheville, NC; one son, Gary Lockhart of Millbrook, AL; one granddaughter, Sherry Nicole Waters of Spartanburg, SC; two great-grandchildren, Shalyn Wilkins and Aslyn Wilkins; one sister, Wilma Owens Decker of Winston-Salem; a special niece and nephew, Denise Decker Bradford of Winston-Salem and Darren Decker of Lexington, NC; and a special great-nephew, Tommy Bradford. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Mark Simmons and Mike White officiating. Interment will follow at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery in North Wilkesboro, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will be accepting flowers.
