Walter Arthur Willeford

Mr. Walter Arthur Willeford, 73, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 at his home. He was born September 4, 1937 in Guilford County, the son of the late Bernard Larson and Nettie Purgason Willeford. Mr. Willeford served with the US Navy from 1958 until 1960. He enjoyed drawing, woodwork, working on cars and playing and talking about trains with his grandson. He also enjoyed watching football, the History and Discovery Channels and Kenneth Copeland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Alan Jeffrey Willeford and two daughters, Julie and Whitney Willeford. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Martha Harris Willeford of the home; one daughter, Christie Willeford Montgomery and husband, James of High Point; one son, Michael Willeford of Winston-Salem; one grandson, Joshua Michael Montgomery of High Point and one sister, Betty Burke of Florida. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
