Mr. Walter Aaron Wardlaw, 88, of Winston-Salem went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 22, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Nicholson, GA to Homer and Gaynelle Hardman Wardlaw. Mr. Wardlaw was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and retired from Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals, Inc.. Mr. Wardlaw served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eleanor Wardlaw. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Ann Wardlaw of the home; three sons, Hal Wardlaw and wife Donna, Michael Wardlaw and wife Denise, and Aubrey Wardlaw and wife Katie all of Winston-Salem; two step granddaughters, Lakynn Serrati and Luranna Frank; two step grandsons, Michael Mackie and Randy Burchfield; one brother, Maurice Wardlaw and wife Sandra; one sister, Manira Michael. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 Pm on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Parklawn Memorial Park Chapel of Memory with Rev. Ron Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
