Mr. Walter Terriberry Thomas, 86, of Bermuda Run passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in New York City in 1924 to Margaret Terriberry and Walter Grant Thomas where he lived his early life. He graduated from Westminster School in Simsbury, CT and later from Harvard College in 1946. During the war he was in the Air Force in the training command in India training Chinese pilots and gunners. After the war, Mr. Thomas worked for Reynolds Metals Co. in Richmond, VA and later came to Winston-Salem and joined RJR Archer Company. He enjoyed golf, tennis and wood working having built or repaired much of their home furniture. He also liked to sail from his home on Cape Cod and as a hobby, built small wooden ship models. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Jane Werhan Thomas; two sons, Peter Terriberry Thomas and wife Cathy of Verona WI and David Wilson Thomas and wife Sandra of Winston-Salem and a cousin, Harold Thomas of Hingham, MA.
