Mr. Walter Alexander Stoltz passed away Friday, September 25, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born July 1, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Thomas Casper Stoltz and Ada Hunter Stoltz. Mr. Stoltz graduated from UNC at Chapel Hill in 1954 and retired from AT&T with over 25 years of service. He was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stoltz was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Stoltz and one sister, Mabel Wood. Surviving are his wife, Betty Winfrey Stoltz; one daughter, Jennie S. Barringer (Alan); one son, Thomas Stoltz (Claudia); five granddaughters, Andrea Venus (Scott), Christine Barringer, Sara Barringer, Stefanie Stoltz and Erin Stoltz; one great-grandson, Cole Venus; and one sister, Marie Burrow. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 28 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Effie McClain officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, September 27 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marvin United Methodist Church, 4401 Indiana Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
