Mr. Walter B. Sprinkle,Jr., 79, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 1, 1929 in Winston-Salem to Walter B. Sprinkle, Sr. and Effie Sprinkle Smith. He retired after 28 years from Chevrolet in 1986. Mr. Sprinkle served in the United States Army at the end of WWII and again during the Korean War. He was a member of Enterprise Masonic Lodge #752. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, M. Carleen Sprinkle; two brothers, Denny Sprinkle and Harold Sprinkle; and two sisters, Alma Parks and Doris Hege. Surviving is a daughter, Nicky Whittington of the home; two sons, Michael Sprinkle and Mark Sprinkle and wife Inna of New Bern; two granddaughters, Danielle Joyner and husband Tony, and Meagan Drake, both of Winston-Salem; one grandson, Jason Strucinski and wife Stephanie of Franklinville; five great-grandchildren, Sirus and Ronin Strucinski, Jackson and Sophia Joyner, and Scarlet Howard, all of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are two sisters, Shelby Myers and husband Gary of Atlanta, GA, and Jackie Felts of Winston-Salem; and one brother, Robert Sprinkle of Winston-Salem; and many more nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, with A Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. at Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church, 430 Weisner Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127 with Rev. Randy Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.
