Walter Ray Saunders

Mr. Walter Ray Saunders, 82, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 8, 1929 in Yadkin County to Thomas Nelson and Sara Jester Saunders who preceded him in death. Mr. Saunders was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Imogene B. Saunders of the home; one son, Kenneth Ray Saunders and wife Rene of Clemmons; and one grandson, Kyle A. Saunders. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jeff Vogler officiating.
