Walter Oliver

Mr. Walter Ralph Oliver, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center.  He was born in Ashe County on December 23, 1942 to the late Jesse and Hassie Riddle Oliver.  Mr. Oliver retired from Yadkin Valley Telephone with over 45 years of service.  He enjoyed bird watching, knife making, cruising, and vacationing at the beach.  Most of all he loved his family.  Preceding him in death was his brother, Lloyd Oliver and a sister, June Stikes.  Surviving is his wife, Dianne Creason Oliver; son, Barry Oliver (Debra); daughter, Breena Seganish (Joe); son, Philip Oliver (Tammy); four grandchildren, Julian Oliver, Brian Oliver, Madeline Seganish, and Ally Seganish; two stepdaughters, Missy Ginther (Chuck) and Megan McDaniel; four step-grandchildren, Haley Howell, Ross Ginther, Jake Renegar, and Macy McDaniel; also surviving is his special companion cat, “Coco.”  A private graveside service will be held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27104.  Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Oliver.
