KERNERSVILLE-Walter Earl Mueller, Jr., 83, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. He was born November 26, 1926 in Maryland to the late Walter Earl Mueller, Sr. and Olive Shumaker Mueller. Walter was a United States Army veteran having served in WWII and the Korean War. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that raised three families. Walter loved fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters, Norma Appold, Alice Adele Mueller, Betty Jeanne Andrews, and Shirley Funari. Surviving are his wife, Eunice Knight Mueller of the home; three sons, Dwain, Michael Anthony, and David Earl Mueller; four step-children, Sonny Coffman, Steve Pearman, Louann Pearman, and Carolyn Nelson; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five brothers, Charles, Robert, Richard, Eddy, and James Mueller; and two sisters, Marilyn Eyler, and Freda DeGruchy; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Danny Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the funeral home.
