Walter Harold Davis

Winston-Salem- Mr. Walter Harold Davis, 67, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on March 12, 1943 in Wake County to the late Jesse Benjamin and Mildred Whitley Davis. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Walter retired from Winston-Salem Dental Care and was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Davis enjoyed fishing, bowling, going out to eat and 1967 Corvettes. He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Earl Davis. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Joyce M. Davis, two step-sons, Gene Thomas and Walter Thomas; two grandsons, Joshua Thomas and fianc郩, Katie Kennedy and Lukas Thomas; two sisters, Susan Hamlet and husband John and Debra Stanley both of Raleigh; several cousins and many friends. A funeral mass will be held 1:30 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with Friar Bill Robinson officiating. A Rosary service will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday, August 24, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with visitation following 6:30-8:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Outreach Ministry of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church 1730 Link Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
