Walter 'Lindsay' Brown

Mr. Walter ""Lindsay"" Brown, 88, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth Co. on May 9, 1923 to the late Samuel Nathaniel Brown and Rachael Prudence Dillon Brown. Lindsay was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother that will be missed by all who knew him. He attended Northwoods Baptist Church and retired from Hayes Albion Corporation as supervisor of the anodizing department with 33 years of service. In his younger years Lindsay loved to rabbit hunt and always had good dogs but in his later years he enjoyed sitting in the yard and watching the birds and squirrels. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Carl Brown, two brothers and a sister. Lindsay is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lemmer T. Brown of the home, a son, Harvey Brown and wife Linda of Kernersville, a daughter-in-law, Maggie Helen Brown of Winston-Salem, four grandchildren, Alton, Kevin, Daniel and Jennifer, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Margie Hoots of Yadkinville. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 at Northwoods Baptist Church in Winston-Salem with Rev. Jim Thompson and Dr. Tim Wall officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 this evening Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
