COLLINS WINSTON-SALEM, Mr. Wade Leon ""Sonny"" Collins, 66, of Old Hollow Rd. passed away Friday May 1, 2009 at Universal Health Care in King. We return our precious Daddy back to the glories of heaven where he suffers no longer from the debilitation of Huntington's Disease. Mr. Collins was born in Pilot Mountain on August 20, 1942 the son of the late Randall George and Lilla Marion Collins. He was a faithful Christian and member of Baux Mountain Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and cherished the bus ministry. His hobbies include NASCAR, 311 Speedway and travel to the mountains and the coast. Sonny had been an employee of I T T Grinnell in Kernersville. Surviving is his wife of 45 years Mrs. Virginia K. ""Jenny"" Collins of the home, two daughters Gina Collins of Winston-Salem and Teresa Collins Hicks of Lexington a grandson Brandon Wade Hicks, five sisters Norma Dezern, Margaret Campbell, Barbara Wall, Hilda Joyce and Frances Turney, three brothers, Joe Collins, Denny Collins and Donny Collins all of Pilot Mountain and 22 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday May 4, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Old Pine Hill Community Church Cemetery in Siloam . The Collins family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Huntington's disease Society of America North Carolina Chapter, P. O. Box 240353 Charlotte, NC 28224-0353. Make this the last generation of HD. The Collins family wishes to express their thanks to both the staff of Universal Health Care of King for loving our daddy and providing him care all these years and to Hospice. We will all miss his smile.
