Vivian Doby Gross

Mrs. Vivian Doby Gross, 78, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, March, 6, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County on June 2, 1946, to the late Mr. Charlie H. Doby and Mrs. Ruth P. Doby.

Vivian was a loving mother, wife, and nana to all that knew her. She loved her family, enjoyed making crafts, scrolling through Amazon, and having her favorite Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband of 42 years, James C. Gross; two brothers, Charlie and Ronnie; and a sister, Janet.

Mrs. Gross is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Baity (Luke); a son, Rob Gross (Amy); two grandchildren, Jordan (Justin) and Joshua; one great-granddaughter, Raegan “powderbutt” who was her world; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service held at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Pastor James Williams officiating. There will be no formal visitation held.
