Vivian Davis

Mrs. Vivian Marie Rush Davis, 81, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born December 12, 1940, in Cumberland Gap, TN, the daughter of Theodore and Eva Ferry Rush.  Vivian was a faithful member of Green Valley Baptist Church and loved Gospel Singing.  She adored her flowers and loved babysitting all the children of the neighborhood, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was also a very loving and generous person, who was devoted to her family. In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Lee Davis; her two grandsons, Landon and Bailey Munn; two brothers, Bill Rush and Sonny Rush; four sisters, Anna Mae Bush, Betty McElyea, Pauline Rush, and Dorothy Lamb.

Surviving are her five children, Tammy Cheatham (Terry) of Lexington, Pamela Jones (Jerrell) of Stokesdale, Diana Munn (Randy) of Walnut Cove, Sheila Mayo (Rob) of Kernersville, and Terry Davis (Helen) of Hood River, OR; six grandchildren, Ashleigh Austin (Jake Darr), Stephanie Jones (Tony Smith), Kesha Orr (Issac), Devin Davis, Zack Davis, and Logan Munn; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; a sister, Linda Marsee (Junior.) of Harragate, TN; and a brother, Rev. John Rush (Kay) of Franklin, TN; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. John Rush officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The children would like to thank their sister, Tammy and her husband, Terry for being their mother’s sole caregiver.
