Virginia Sophia Tesh

Virginia Sophia Tesh, 87, of Clemmons, Arcadia community, passed away on May 7, 2009 at her home. She was born in Davidson County to Robert S. and Hattie Tesh. Virginia was a graduate of Appalachian State College with a degree in education and during her teaching career she taught the first grade in the Davidson County School System. She had a great love for educating children, knitting, gardening and reading. Virginia was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Etta Austin and Dorothy Nifong; and her brother, Robert Tesh. She is survived by her much loved sisters, Lucille Hill and Elizabeth Burke; many nieces and nephews; and an extended circle of friends. She was deeply loved by her family. We will miss you, Jenny. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 8 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery in Arcadia at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9 with the Rev. Ray Surratt officiating. The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Winston-Salem and the devoted caregivers, Bobbie Sue, Brenda, Kim, Lisa, Sissy, and Julie.
