Mrs. Virginia Kathleen Smith Miller, 91, a resident of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center. Virginia was born on September 19, 1933 in Forsyth County to the late Joseph Francis and Cathrine Reid Smith. She retired from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools after many years as an assistant manager in the cafeteria. She also worked for the Winston-Salem Police Department as a School Crossing Guard for 29 years. Virginia was a loving person with a selfless spirit. She loved to take care of everyone like they were her own children. Virginia was a member of Sprague Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Lee Miller, Sr; her nine siblings; and a granddaughter, Amber Miller.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Paul Lee Miller, Jr., Allan Miller (Nancy), and Dwayne Miller (Jamie); five grandchildren, Stacey (Joey), Jonathan (Jessica), Addison, Brian (Lacy), and Amanda (Michael); and numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens on Thursday, February 27, 2025. The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103
