Virginia Mae "Sis" Parrish Simmons

Mrs. Virginia Mae ""Sis"" Parrish Simmons, 86, passed away Saturday, April 09, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Forsyth County August 28, 1929 to the late Coy Lee and Annie Swain Parrish. Sis retired from Ilco Unican and was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Sis was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Odell Simmons and two brothers, Troy and Jake Parrish. She is survived by six children: William Red Simmons, Patricia Simmons Jones (Lloyd), Larry Dean Simmons, Herbert Keith Simmons (Cindy), Cathy Simmons Styers, and Carol Simmons Johnson; nine grandchildren: Bill, Becky, Angie, Daniel, John-Daryl, Adrianne, Laura, Casey, and Nicholas; eleven great-grandchildren; three siblings: Louise Boaz, Elizabeth ""Lib"" Myers, and Ralph Parrish; and many special friends. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gammons and Rev. Vic Pyles officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
