Virginia B. Penry

Kernersville -Mrs. Virginia B. Penry, age 90, of Kernersville passed away Saturday June 6, 2009 at Britthaven of Kernersville. She was born April 13, 1919, in Forsyth County to the late Julius & Lelia Brown Caudle. Virginia was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clyde Penry; four brothers, Gray, Fred, Bill and Charles Caudle; and a sister, Mildred Weavil. Surviving are four sons, Wayne Penry (Carol) of Newport, NC, Dean Penry (Helen) of Kernersville, Mark Penry (Vickie) of Emerald Isle, NC and Philip Penry of Winston-Salem; a sister, Doris Douthit of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, David (Damita) Penry, Michael (Ginny) Penry, Larry, Bradley and Robert Penry; six great grandchildren, Katie, Hanna, Carson, Riley, Alaina and Holly; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Crestview Baptist Church with the Rev. Ottis Hurst and Rev. Michael Penry officiating. Burial will follow at Glenn View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009.
