Virginia Newman Pegram

Our loving and caring mother, Virginia Newman Pegram, went home to be with Jesus on October 10, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born on June 17, 1927 in Patrick Co., VA to the late Thomas Newman and Mintoria Bowman Newman. Mrs. Pegram was retired from Brady Furniture Co. in Rural Hall. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Reese Pegram, her son, Tommy Lee Pegram and special friend, Roy Oliver. She is survived by a loving brother, Joe Newman of the home, a special sister-in-law, Edna Tucker, her daughter, Margaret Anderson and husband James, her son, David Pegram and Denise Chandler, four grandchildren, Candi and Lindsay Fernandez and Matthew, Chris and Marilyn Pegram, a step-grandchild, Keanen Chandler, three great-grandchildren, Kadison and Aidan Fernandez and Landon Pegram and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Pegram will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Bob Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in King. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 357 Old Hollow Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105. ""Our mother was the happiest when she was taking care of others. We are so very thankful for all the love and prayers shown to the family during this difficult time. Mama you didn't have much here on earth but we knew that we were all the treasures you needed. ""Granny we will miss your chicken dumplings, chocolate pie and dressing at Thanksgiving. But most of all we will miss your unconditional love. We love you and will miss you so!""
