Virginia Shell Myers

Virginia Shell Myers died July 2, 2016 at The Oaks at Forsyth. She was born June 7, 1929 in Winston-Salem to the late John H. Shell, Sr. and Grace Jackson Shell. Her immediate survivors are a son, Keith S. Hamby and wife Barbara; two grandchildren, Amanda Hamby and spouse Hillary Blackburn and Zane Hamby and wife Paola; her great-grandson, Dylan Walker Hamby; her brother, Curtis Shell and wife Virginia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her son, Ty Hamby in 1999 and her brother, John Shell, Jr. Mrs. Myers retired from K & W Cafeteria on Healy Drive. She was a great lover of music, especially the banjo played by her brother Curtis. Her character, courage, beauty, and goodness will be missed by those who knew her. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
