Virginia Comer Motsinger, 83, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born February 15, 1932 in Fancy Gap, VA to the late Thomas R. Comer, Sr. and Ellen Easter Comer. Mrs. Motsinger was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir. She was an avid bowler, professional seamstress, enjoyed making peach pies, and singing with the Morning Glories. Mrs. Motsinger was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard E. Motsinger; two sisters, Juanita Kaplan and Josephine Thomas and two brothers, Thomas Comer, Jr. and Morrell Comer. Surviving is a daughter, Vickie Myers (Van); son, Jerry Motsinger (Debbie); daughter, Debbie Carpenter (Gary); six grandchildren, Jason Myers, Heather Myers, Kasey Motsinger, Krystal Carpenter, Taylor Norman, and Hannah Carpenter; one great-grandson, Harrison Myers; two sisters, Lou Talley and O.C. Walker; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30-12:00 prior to the service at the church.
