Mrs. Virginia Linville Morgan passed away September 22, 2013 at the age of 93. Virginia was born on July 16, 1920 to the late Carrie Phillips and Alvin Wheeler Linville. She spent the majority of her life living in the Waughtown Community of Winston-Salem where she graduated from South (Gray) High School. Family and Church were the loves of her life. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grand-mother, sister and aunt. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Wood Morgan, sister, Doris Sale and brothers, Dwight and Talmadge Linville. Surviving members of her family include son, Timothy Morgan and wife, Gail of Lewisville; grandson, Sam Morgan and wife, Diane of Clemmons and granddaughter, Anna Morgan Price and husband, Mark of Roanoke, Virginia. Grandchildren brightened her life as well as her great grandchildren, Brendan and Megan Shea, Jake Morgan and Gray and Trey Price. Cooking and flower gardening were Virginia's special interest. She was a life-long devoted member of First United Church of Christ, Winston-Salem, which was truly an extension of her life. The family will receive friends on Wednesday between 1:30 and 2:30 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel followed by a graveside service at 3:00 pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. David Crook and Rev. Wayne Linville In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Church of Christ, 1912 Waughtown Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 225 Davie Ave. Statesville, NC 28677. The family wishes to thank Trinity Elms Assisted Living of Clemmons and Clemmons Village Assisted Living for their love and support of Virginia during her final years.
