Virginia Doris Houk

KERNERSVILLE-Virginia Doris Johnston Houk, 77, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 10, 1933 in TN to the late Eugene Johnston and Elsie Johnston Mabe. Mrs. Houk retired from Adams Millis after 20 years of service and from Roses Department Store. She also worked for Winston Salem Forsyth Co. School System as a Crossing Guard at Kernersville Elementary and Kernersville Middle School. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Hix Houk. Surviving are her son, Terry L. Houk; daughter, Ruth Ann Houk- Millhollin and husband Donald, Jr.; grandson, James A. Houk;two sisters, Deloris Ball and Anne Harrison; and a brother, George Johnston and wife Shirley. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to either, Hospice of donor's choice or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahmona City, OK 73123.
