Mrs. Virginia Lee Bowden Butcher, 75, passed away Tuesday August 3, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born February 12, 1946, in Rowan County to the late Robert Bowden and Virginia Sessoms Bowden. Mrs. Butcher was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and had a testimony of God’s grace and mercy. In addition, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friends to many. Mrs. Butcher will be dearly missed by the ones who knew her. In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Venable and sister, Valerie Mikels. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Paul Butcher; son, Jesse Butcher (Dee); four grandchildren, Vanna Lee(Nick), Lane Butcher, Dylan Butcher, and Emerson Rose Butcher; daughter-in-law, Robin Rapp; sister, Hope Abbott (Tonnie); three brothers, Robert Bowden, Ed Bowden, and Walter Bowden (Susan); and a special aunt, Ruby Bowden. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday August 7, 2021, at Bannertown Baptist Church with Rev. Don Charles, Pastor Kenny Heath, and her son Jesse Butcher officiating. The burial will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday August 6, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
