Winston-Salem- Mrs. Virginia Dean Amos, 84, passed away October 24, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born September 30, 1927 in Forsyth County to the late Robert Crawford Dean and Margaret Elizabeth Snow Dean. She was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Moravian Church. Mrs. Amos attended White Rock School and graduated from Mineral Springs High School. She retired as Cafeteria Manager from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools with 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Perry Amos, Jr.,. Mrs. Amos was also preceded in death by her son, Perry Wayne Amos and a brother, Jerry W. Dean and a sister, Jane D. Baker. She is survived by her three daughters, Adrienne Amos Livengood, Valerie A. Cook and husband James, Tracy A. Sattler and husband Gary; five grandchildren, Matthew S. Livengood, Gregory A. Livengood, J. Erik Livengood, Tiffany A. McGrady and husband Tedd, and Colton J.W. Sattler; a great-granddaughter, Calli McGrady. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Oak Grove Moravian Church with the Rev. Matthew Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Oak Grove Moravian Church, 120 Hammock Farm Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
