Mrs. Virgie Agnes Kirk Jarrett, 93, a resident of King, passed away November 5, 2024 in Rose Tara Senior Living Center. She was born in Giles County, VA to the late Arnold and Edith Kirk on August 29, 1931. Virgie was the daughter of a Baptist minister and truly emulated Proverbs 31. She loved her family very much and prioritized them in every way. She was a homemaker who, along with her husband of 73 years, raised three children. Virgie loved gardening, cooking, canning, and birdwatching. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Jarrett, Sr.; a brother, Durward Kirk; her sisters, Nettie McDaniel, Eva Gordon, and Barbara Ann Allguyer; and a beloved grand-dog, Brandy.
Left to cherish Virgie’s memory are her children, William “Bill” Jarrett, Jr. (Debbie), Pat Nifong (Norm Vaden), and Kenny Jarrett (LouAnn); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Robbie Francisco, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 12:00 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 3250 High Point Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.Casual Attire. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials to be sent to Rose Tara Memory Care in King.
