Violet Sappenfield Kimmer

Mrs. Violet Sappenfield Kimmer, age 93 of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born July 27, 1920 in Forsyth County to Earl Eugene Sappenfield and Stella McGee Sappenfield. Mrs. Kimmer was a member of Old Town Baptist Church, played Basketball and Softball in school and played Commercial Basketball for Hanes and had played the violin in the school orchestra and the Clemmons Community orchestra. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Foy Kimmer; two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by one brother, Earl Sappenfield, Jr. and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel by Dr. Rick Speas and Dr. Jerry Laughter. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
