Vincent Fredrick Tief

Mr. Vincent ""Butch"" Fredrick Tief, 73, of Lewisville, died Thursday, August 13, 2015, at his home. He was born December 11, 1941 in Westchester County, NY to Vincent Lawrence and Hilma Thorne Tief. Mr. Tief served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He worked for McLean Trucking Company for over 20 years and then retired as a contract mail carrier. Family was the most important thing to Mr. Tief. He devoted his time to Barbara's family and was like a son and brother to them. Butch was a simple and compassionate man who loved everybody and would deprive himself to help others. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Wendy Christine Tief and his father-in-law, Lester Beeson. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Peddycord Tief of the home; one son, William ""Bill"" Lawrence Tief (Andrea); and three grandchildren, Robert Sean Tief, William Vincent Tief, and Skyla Ann Tief; mother-in-law, Ruby Peddycord Beeson; brothers-in-law, Barry Peddycord (Jacque), Dan Peddycord (Jo), Ricky Peddycord, and Jerry Beeson (Marilyn); sisters-in-law, Carol Warren (James), Bunnie Sinclair (Chuck), and Cheryl Fernandez (Eddie); and all of his beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Dr. George Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lewisville Baptist Church Youth Group.
