Victor Manuel Morillo

Mr. Victor Manuel Morillo, 92, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Calacali, Ecuador to the late Jose Vicente Morillo and Rosa Alejandrina Castillo on September 25, 1916. He owned and operated a hotel and several restaurants for nearly 40 years. Mr. Morillo had a passion for soccer. He was a father of eight children and loved his family very much. Mr. Morillo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Ana and Teresa; one brother, Julio and a granddaughter, Priscilla. Surviving are his wife Lucita; eight children, Ruth Tsiptsis (Milton), Alex Morillo (Brenda), Patricio Morillo (Allyson), Carlos Morillo (Patricia), Rocio Rocha (Pedro), German Morillo (Cynthia), Paul Morillo (Paulina), and Sofia Pizano; 10 grandchildren, Magdalene, Victoria, Manuel, Armando, Lucia, Ysabel, Nicholas, Mateo, Paulo, and Pedro; two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Sophia; also surviving is a brother, Carlos Gonzalo and three sisters, Mercedes, Blanca, and Laura. A mass of Christian Burial will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Tri Truong officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Holy Family Catholic Church 4820 Kinnamon Road Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
