Vickie Rippy

Kernersville – Vickie Elaine Shockley Rippy, 68, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 21, 2022. She was born on January 7, 1954, in Gaston County to the late Charles and Wilma Moore Shockley. Vickie liked to craft in her spare time. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Vickie was a sweet and loving woman with a heart of gold. She had a passion for teaching, which she called her career for 30 years. Vickie was a family woman and loved everyone in her life, especially her son, grandchildren, and great grandchild. She led with a strong will and a firm hand. Vickie was admired, loved, and will be missed by so many.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two stepsisters.

Surviving are her son, Robert Joseph Walker, Jr. (Donna); two grandchildren, Bethany Myers (Amber), and Courtney Duggins (Sam); one great grandchild, Jordynn Elizalde; two brothers, John Charles Shockley, and Michael Clifford Shockley; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Eddie Schmidt officiation.
