Vertice Clodfelter Sechrist

Mrs. Vertice Clodfelter Sechrist, 84, of Lexington passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 2, 1926 in Forsyth County to Charles Gideon and Lelia Cline Clodfelter. Mrs. Sechrist was a member of Triad Baptist Church and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 37 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie James Sechrist, Jr.; two sisters, Mildred Davis Brown and Elvia Clodfelter Pope; and a brother, Dumont Clodfelter. Surviving is a number of nieces and nephews; and a sister, Bernice Joyce of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 29 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Robert Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 28 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Triad Baptist Church, 1175 S. Main St., Kernersville, NC 27284. The family would like to thank the many friends and relatives for cards, calls and visits; and special thanks to Sylvia Willis, caregiver, Gail Perdue, Karen Dowell, Lee Ray and Gwyn Dean for your help and care; Dr. Amy Baruch and Dr. Charles Stinson, Palliative Care of Forsyth Medical Center, Dr. Christopher J.
