Versie Mae Osborne Pegram

WALKERTOWN Mrs. Versie Mae Osborne Pegram, 92, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Forsyth Co. on January 14, 1920 the daughter of the late Charles E. Osborne and Roberta Swain Osborne. Mrs. Pegram was a loving, compassionate and caring mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed deeply by all who knew her. She was a lifelong resident of the Walkertown community. She graduated Walkertown School and went on to graduate Draughn Business College. Mrs. Pegram retired from the Forsyth Co. Sheriff's Department in 1979 as an Administrative Deputy. She was also employed with N.C. National Bank for a number of years, Wachovia Bank and Trust and Budd Services. She was a member of the Business Womens Association and National Sheriffs Association. Mrs. Pegram was a member of Love's United Methodist Church in Walkertown and a member of the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Pegram in 1988 and a daughter, Janice Pegram in 1970. Mrs. Pegram is survived by her three children, Carol Holland (Wayne C.) of Rural Hall, James M. Pegram of Walkertown and Linda Mabe (Tommy L.) of Walkertown, three grandchildren, Traci Brownlee (Patrick), Kimberly Brown (Jason) and Matthew Mabe (Tabatha), four great-grandchildren, Austin Brownlee, Drew Brownlee, Dylan Mabe and Devin Mabe and a great nephew, Bobby Knouse. A private service will be conducted Thursday, June 28, 2012 with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Love's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Walkertown. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Hospice and a special thanks to caregivers Tammy Collins and Kim Mabe for all of the loving care that was shown to their mother over the last five years.
