Vernon Ross Long

Mr. Vernon Ross Long, 70, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at his home. He was born February 26, 1954, in Forsyth County to the late Ernest Long and Agnes Bailey Long. Vernon was a jack of all trades. He was a diesel mechanic and enjoyed working on anything Harley Davidson. Vernon genuinely cared for and loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Julie Yarborough Long; his daughter, Suzanne Gerald; and two granddaughters, Callie Gerald and Bailey Gerald. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse Ministries, 414 E. Northwest Blvd. Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
