Vernon Charles Kiehl

Mr. Vernon Charles Kiehl passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Health on Sunday, July 26, 2015. He was born on January 15, 1929 to Florence Anna Schroeder and Vernon Edward Kiehl in Cleveland, Ohio. Vernon was a proud veteran of the US Army, having served during the Occupation of Germany in the 4th Infantry Div. and also as a Tank Commander in the 3rd Armored Div. He was also a member of the VFW and the Lake Erie Masonic Lodge #662. Vernon had a kind spirit. He was a valued volunteer with the Girl Scouts of the USA and the Boy Scouts of America. In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by a sister, Harriette Kiehl Lash. Vernon is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eva Skuba Kiehl; 2 children, Deborah Kiehl Krueger (John), and Vernon Michael Kiehl (Kathy Verkin Kiehl); granddaughters, Anna and Alexandra Sattler; a great grandson, Kendrick Polk; nieces, Linda Lash, Sharon Lash, and Charlene Scuba Schuh, all of Ohio; and a special friend, Robert Riess. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to The MDS Foundation, 4573 South Broad St., Suite 150, Yardville, NJ 08620.
