Mrs. Vernice Moore Miller, 94, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hosipce Home. She was born February 5, 1920 in Gaffney, SC to Lillian Acorn Moore and William Barto Moore. Mrs. Miller was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and retired from P.H. Hanes Knitting with 29 years of service. She also retired from Owens Illinois after 10 years of service. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her son, H.R. Miller, Jr. and a grandson. Surviving are two children, Phyllis Branch (Don) of Winston-Salem and Kay Walker (Brookie) of Denton; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Parklawn Memorial Park with Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at the Danby House for their care and compassion for Mrs. Miller. Memorials may be made to Woodland Baptist Church or to Hospice & Palliative Care Center.
