WINSTON SALEM - Mrs. Vernell White Bodenhamer, 83, died peacefully at her home Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Vernell was born on March 7, 1929 in Davie County to the late Joe and Lucretia Boyd White. She was a member of Union Cross Baptist Church. In an effort to benefit the lives of others, Vernell unselfishly decided to donate her body to science. In addition to her parents, Vernell was preceded in death by her first husband, Mike Daniels, one son, Ricky Bodenhamer; and nine brothers and sisters. Surviving are one daughter, Renae Daniels Lail (husband, Larry) of Winston-Salem; two sons, Marty Daniels (Judy) of Kernersville and Todd Bodenhamer (wife, Sherra) of Denton; one sister, Annie Bell Ingram of Mocksville; six grandchildren, Christy Litaker (Allen), Bill Daniels (Shaylena), Kathy Horton (Jason), Cody Bodenhamer, Cheyenne Smith and Dakota Smith; seven great grandchildren, Hannah Litaker, Sarah and Lauren Horton, Madyson and Kaleb Daniels and Madison and Allison Smith. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday January 19, 2013 at Union Cross Baptist Church. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Bodenhamer family.
