McGEE - PINNACLE
Mrs. Verna Mae Gordon McGee, of Pinnacle, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Universal Healthcare of King. She was born November 19, 1917 in Stokes County to the late Arthur William and Ida Gordon Gordon. She was a member of Pinnacle Baptist Church, a homemaker, and loved working on the farm.

Mrs. McGee was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gray T. McGee and a twin brother, Herman J. Gordon. Surviving are one daughter, Jannie and husband Junior D. Goins of Pinnacle; two grandchildren, Chad D. Goins of Raleigh and Amy and husband, Billy R. Brown of Elkin; three great-grandsons and the lights of her life, Elijah Bill ""Eli"" Brown, Nathan Davis Brown, and Christian Hayes Brown all of Elkin; five sisters-in-law: Peggy McGee, Kathryn McGee, Doris McGee, Nannie Ola McGee, and Irene Collins; and also, numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28 at Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church, Volunteer Road, Pinnacle, NC with the Rev. Walter Brewer officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 27 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Swanson Joyce, 1609 Osborne Joyce Road, Pinnacle, NC 27043.
