Verlin V.W. Junior Sutherland

MOCKSVILLE, NC-Verlin William ""V.W. Junior"" Sutherland, 76, of Mocksville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. V.W. was born on October 16, 1938 in Forsyth County to the late Verlin William Sutherland, Sr. and Eva Stella Livesay Sutherland. V.W. was self-employed as a brick mason from 1962 until 2000. He continued to lay brick and make beautiful woodwork creations for the remainder of his life. He attended Wyo Bible Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, V.W. was preceded in death by his youngest son, Marty Jason Sutherland. V.W. Sutherland is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rosie Sutherland of the home; three daughters, Darlene Story and husband, Lee of Yadkinville, NC, Cindy Boggs and husband, Larry of Mocksville, NC, and Eva Beach and husband, Dana of Yadkinville, NC; one son, Chad Sutherland of Yadkinville, NC; four granddaughters, Katie Sutherland, Summer Sutherland, Brie Beach and Kylie Beach; three grandsons, Joshua Beach, Marty Beach, and ""Little"" Chad Sutherland; one soon to be great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. David Stetler officiating. Burial will follow at Wyo Cemetery in Yadkinville, NC. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. V.W. was a well known friend to all who knew him and everyone who had the honor of knowing him loved him. He was a loving husband, daddy, papa and father-in-law and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Davie County, 377 Hospital St., Suite 103, Mocksville, NC 27028.
