Mrs. Vera Virginia Dees Tuttle, 85, passed away August 9, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born March 23, 1929 in Forsyth County to the late Alton Dewey Dees and Cora Oakley Dees. She was a graduate of Gray High School. Mrs. Tuttle was retired from Reynolds Building Barber Shop as a manicurist with 30 years of service and subsequently worked as an assistant for her husband at Tuttle Photo. She enjoyed fishing at the coast while watching the sunrise with her morning coffee. Her hobbies included gardening, cross-stitching, and crocheting. Mrs. Tuttle was preceded in death by her husband, Laford Boles Tuttle, Sr. and her two sisters, Dorothy and Bessie Lee. She is survived by her daughter, Lara T. Lockwood and husband David; her son, L.B. Tuttle, Jr. and wife Gail; five grandchildren, Michael Wilson, Courtney Wilson, Thomas Tuttle and wife Kimberly, Jason Tuttle, and Darryl Tuttle; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Sanders, Riley Tuttle, and Zoe Tuttle. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
