Vera Buck Roper

KERNERSVILLE - Vera Buck Roper, 71, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born August 8, 1941 in Guilford Co. to the late Earl and Eva Deaton Buck. Mrs. Roper was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She loved taking care of her flower beds and sewing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her great-grandson Baby Timothy. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Paul Buster Roper of the home; three daughters, Lois Ann Shields and husband, Kenneth of Pinnacle, Ellen Mae Tolbert and husband, Rev. Michael Tolbert of Jamestown, SC, Hope Lynn Tinnes and husband, Gary of Winston Salem; two sons, Paul Buster Roper, Jr. and wife, Janice of Thomasville, Donald Marvin Roper and wife, Sherry of Lexington; thirteen grandchildren, Felisha Davis, Erica Skipper, Aaron Tolbert, Jessica Nelson, Mandy Wardrup, Kaylan Tinnes, Gary Tinnes, Samantha Watts, Matthew Roper, Faith Roper, Patrick Roper, Michael Roper, and Allen Duke; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lydia Ann Wright of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Kenneth Roper and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Ben Duncan and Pastor Tom Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. to 12:45 P.M. Wednesday 27, 2013 prior to the service at the funeral home.
