WALKERTOWN - Mrs. Velma Grubbs Tuttle passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after an extended period of declining health. She was born April 3, 1931 in Forsyth County to the late Wade Bynum Grubbs and Gertrude Elizabeth Walker Grubbs. Mrs. Tuttle graduated from Mineral Springs High School and retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Alton Tuttle; and brother, Wade Dalton Grubbs. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Tuttle of Walkertown and Cathy Tuttle of Jamestown; granddaughter, Terri Couch; two great-grandchildren; brother, Roland Grubbs (Jean) of Orlando, FL; sister-in-law, Loretta Grubbs of Winston-Salem; and four nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Gary Styers officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 13 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
