Velma Cox Maguire

KERNERSVILLE-Velma Cox Maguire, 91, loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was born April 19, 1917 in Randolph Co. to the late Jessie and Claire Brady Cox. Mrs. Maguire was a member of First Baptist Church in Kernersville and was a retiree of Adams Millis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Franklin Maguire; three sisters and a brother. Surviving are her son, Larry Maguire and wife Rosemary of Kernersville; two grandchildren, John Maguire and wife Wendy of Tabor City, NC, and Holly Maguire of Chapel Hill; two great-grandchildren, Jake and Jordan Maguire; three nephews and two nieces. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Dr. Stephen Martin officiating. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Golden Living Center in Greensboro for all their loving kindness and care. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
