Vella James

Mrs. Vella Stamper James, 89, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Wilkes County to the late Connie Stamper and Bessie Ellis Stamper on August 16, 1932. Vella retired from Hanes Hosiery after 35 years of service. After retirement, she went to work for Hamrick’s Department store for 10 years. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald James; son, Phillip James: brothers, Don Stamper, Monti Stamper, Dean Stamper and Ivory Stamper; sister, Grace Beck. She is survived by a sister, Cleo Rakes; 2 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A special thank-you to Mark McBride for all his assistance, Love and Care.
