Vea Snyder

Ms. Vea Lynn Snyder, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, in Winston-Salem, NC. Vea was born in Rockford, IL, on August 16, 1941, to the late Gilbert Snyder and Bertha Peck Snyder. She graduated from West Rockford High School in 1959, then traveled to spend one year in Paris teaching ambassador kids. She then received her Master’s Degree from Rock College, spending the years between 1962-1963 as a student. Vea taught at Reynolds High School and Jefferson Day School for several years.

She is survived by her sister, Sue Wickens; nephew, Don Schmeltzer; three nieces, Veronica, Courtney and Lori (Matthew) Hezrin; grandnieces, Kaitlyn Hezrin and Ash Hezrin; special friend, Boyd Reynolds; and his two sons, Ricky and Shannon.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. Burial will take place at a later date in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park, IL.
