Vallie Gentry Whitt

Mrs. Vallie Gentry Whitt, 90, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Brookridge Retirement Community in Winston-Salem. She was born January 4, 1925 in Forsyth Co. the daughter of the late James and Rosa Gentry. Mrs. Whitt was a member of Poplar Springs Church of Christ and had the distinction of being one of the first volunteers with King Outreach Ministries. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Whitt, Sr. and her daughter, Nancy Johnson. Mrs. Whitt is survived by six daughters, Linda Taylor of King, Margo Webster of King, Vickie Boyles (Bobby) of King, Patsy Dyson of Rural Hall, Susan Adams (Mike) of Atlanta, GA and Tina Whitt (Trish) of Rural Hall, two sons, Butch Whitt (Tammy) of Tobaccoville and Charlie Flynn of King, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and two brothers, Delmar Gentry and Rocky Gentry. Private services will be conducted for Mrs. Whitt with Don Wallace, Minister and Rev. Gary Styers officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to King Outreach Ministries, P.O. Box 4357, King, NC 27021.
