Troy E. Watts

Mr. Troy E. Watts, 86, of Advance passed away Monday, March 01, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born June 18, 1923 in Forsyth County to Richard Elmer and Bessie Long Watts. Mr. Watts was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during World War II and was retired from General Motors with 27 years of service. He graduated from Gray High School where he was a drum major. Troy loved to play golf with his friends in the ""Over the Hill"" gang at Tanglewood and also enjoyed bowling. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nina Beck and three brothers, R.E. Watts, Jr., Odell Watts and Powell Watts. Surviving are his wife, Patsy Gaines Watts; a daughter, Beverly Koonts and husband Eddy; two sons, Tony and Steve Watts; six grandchildren, Kim Smith and husband Marty, Kristi Hubacher and husband Matt, Kevin Koonts, Heather Roseboro and husband Freddie, Stephanie Watts and Michael Watts and six great grandchildren. A celebration of Troy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Maple Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Matthews and Rev. Jerry Webb Officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
